About Me: Hello,

My name is Hendrikus De Vaan, and I live a life of pictures. Film has played a big part in my life from a very young age. Spending most weekends as a child immersed in video’s, I remember very clearly watching “Goodfellas” at age 11 and from then forth being irrevocably hooked. This was to be the start of a lifetime devotion to the medium.

Since then I have both studied film and worked within various sectors of the film industry all whilst simultaneously running side projects, short films, experimental scenes, writing and a large amount of personal research to work on the development of my own directorial skill set. I also have an avid love for animation of all kinds, but stop motion definitely takes the cake for me.

Hobbies: Playing guitar and singing, cycling, the gym, philosophy, art of any kind, animation, reading and watching movies (although that probably goes without saying).
Books: A bookshelf full. Mostly film Books and classic literature.
Movie Interests: Anything from classic noirs to modern cinema. I'll pretty much watch anything, with my favorite genre's being neo-noir, western, fantasy/ sci-fi and action. Although naming a genre tends to be a fairly broad brush stroke.

Hey thanks a lot for the comment. I used to get an occasional stop-motion job but the industry in South Africa almost entirely focused on the production of Computer animation and stop-motion is really just seen as a novelty, and even if you do get a job, the deadline is crazy and pay really low.
I would really love the chance to work full time in stop-motion. I guess we all would. :)

Is there a video of someone doing it and showing the steps of using this software.
