First Frame Shot
Monday, 03 January 2011
Well, I got the footage in my hands to start this deal off! I can't get into why but, the first few shots require that I drop an image of one of the stop motion puppets into the background and they don't require any movement (use your noodle, I think you can figure it out) so all I needed to do was match lighting and get 'it' positioned in frame and make it look like part of the real set.

There is a legend in film making which says that the first shot you shoot of anything is the most critical, that's because with it you establish the look from which you cannot deviate later. So of course I was a bit nervous sending the first image back to the studio in CA for then to see and rip apart, demanding all kind of changes................. APPROVED on the first try!

Finally! I feel like I can breath, getting out of puppet making mode and I'm actually starting to shoot some real frames on this thing. HooRay! ☺ (sorry, no photos allowed)
