Tips & Tutorials For Pixilation & Timelapse

The best advice I've heard so far for pixilating actors is to make sure that your subject breathes out before each shot to avoid the 'body flutter' that you can sometimes see around the chest... I'll be digging through the Intrawebs for other production gems, but if you find any decent 'how-to' information, please feel free to share below:

Ah, yes - that's great advice Andrew! It's easy to under estimate the muscle control/patience that your subject needs to do the work. I was *very* lucky with the young actress who worked with me on the last animated short, as it was a tall order for a child to work like that. We did break shooting down into smaller sequences over several days to get the best from the kids. They were great though - and bizarrely seemed to 'get it' quicker than the adults!

Its best to use dancers or people who practice yoga. Its best to work with people who have strong, flexible bodies and can take the strain between frames. But sometimes its difficult to explain the concept of timing and incremental movement. So sometimes using other animators or your self is best.
