Slam the Ham
Description:
I am working on a new music video for my band. The song is inspired from an old traditional Jiddish song called "Battare Prosciutto" - which we freely translated to "Slam the Ham". The song is about a woman who is trying to get out of poverty and wanting to change her current situation, which is to be collected by the man in black. The theme in the song fits a stop motion video perfect, since it sort play with the mix of reality and dreams. This is a link to the song: http://www.myspace.com/stronglyrecommended The story is still in progress. The basic idea is about a gypsy female servant enslaved to work in a kitchen, but dreaming of escaping to the south to get a better life. The manage to escape the lord of the house - this will not actually show the lord, but leave him to the imagination and only be illustrated by doors about to be opened and her fearing what comes out. After escaping she runs down a dark road, and running into a barrel organ with a face on. The face springs to live and sings her story. Suddenly the face stops singing and the man in black comes out of the top of the barrel organ, and she has to front her fears before she can start her new and better live. The whole video will mainly work with body language to convey her feelings and the mood of the movie.
