30- 1000 fps......
I can't think of anyone animating at 1000 fps, not even anyone who animates above 30 fps.
I animate at 24 fps, the standard amount, it's good enough to look smooth and it doesn't gobble up as much frames as with 30 fps.
The smoothness is less of an importance to me at the moment, although I do not want it to look reall choppy.
Re: What Fps do you animate at? (frames per second)
I don't think 30fps is even worth doing, features run between 24 and 25fps and they look perfectly smooth.
At the moment I'm animating at 15fps because I need to get it done quickly. It looks a hell of a lot smoother than 12 but getting it into a DVD format can play havoc with the frames. I like to animate at 24, though. But sometimes I'll switch to 2's for something.
For example if a character is pulling themselves up onto a ledge, while they pull themselves up slowly, the jerkier nature of twos actually fits pretty well for their arms, but I might be animating their face at the full 24.
for the three of you who animate at 0-9 I strongly suggest that you move up to at least 12. anything lower than that doesn't actually look like movement rather than being able to see the individual frames.
