Modelling the Hobgoblin

Modelling the Hobgoblin

Have been struggling to find any work or land any commissioned pieces (get interest but interest falls through after customers realise it's not cheap to produce), have also been a bit slack with my skills recently but want to try and sell myself to wychwood brewery to make a series of adverts/shorts to advertise their beers, so in practise for my pitch and self have been trying my hand at modelling and painting, have never really done this before, sure i've made my own puppets and done a tiny bit of work with sculpey before, but i never painted my models yet. and have never owned or painted any warhammer type models before (like it seems a lot of model makers have)

So anyway until i upload the photos here I shall link to my facebook album of my progress but so far I'm over the moon it's turning out really well, a friend helped show me what paints to use in which order and let me use his warhammer paints, will need to get a hold of some of my own.

Have now uploaded series of photos here too (priority will be facebook but some people prefer to stay on site)
So anyway here it is, feedback very welcome, here or on facebook:
Making the Hobgoblin - Animate Clay Gallery
Making The Hobgoblin - Facebook Gallery

I will keep updating that album until finished by the way, so check back each week or so.

Re: Modelling the Hobgoblin

This figure won't be animated, but hopefully I will get commissioned to make a fully posable one (I'm thinking foam latex or silicone, both of which I've never worked with before... YAY) and create a series of short advertisements with him.

Re: Modelling the Hobgoblin

Really detailed and greatly modeled, and I like the advertisement idea.

Re: Modelling the Hobgoblin

hi feklo, yes everything on the head is made from super sculpey, have uploaded some more photos now, and have let wychwood know of my model and interest in making adverts for them, had a small reply too smile

The Wychwood brewery make many ales all of which are adorned by a character such as the hobgoblin. I love their beers (and a partner cider) they're full of flavour and character and I love the illustrations too. Would be a great opportunity to make adverts
