Replacement Heads/remodelling for each shot?

Replacement Heads/remodelling for each shot?

Not sure which way to go, have so far worked on heads with replacement mouth parts.  Was wondering whether it would be better to make replacement heads.  Would appreciate any advice, experience, things to watch out for.  I am using Newplast for modelling btw.  Thanks

Replacement Newplast heads? I feel like it would be a lot more work than necessary, and the modeling of the heads may not be consistent enough to look right when animated. But it's really up to you. My personal preference when animating with clay is to just remodel/re-sculpt the face when necessary. It takes a little time...but it's clay! That's what it's meant for!

Thanks for that.  Still not sure what medium to create the heads out of.  I find Newplast easymandate quick to work with, but would prefer smoother, result with more colour variation. Like you say clay is easier to reshape and not too time consuming.  Do you have any advice on what to use for replacement heads if I were to go down that route?
