New camera?
New camera?
Hey guys I'm looking to get a new camera (my s760 has been giving me fits, like freezes and bad quality) but am stuck. I'm wanting something with really good quality, but not to expensive. Also I've never animated using a video camera, so what features would I need to look for if I wanted to animate with one? Thanks.
Re: New camera?
I think youtube takes away quality to every video. Now I'm really needing a camera, mine frozea couple of times while animating yesterday, and then the focus wouldn't work, and then on top of all that the batteries died, so I'm definately getting a new one, most likely one of those heavy duty cameras with the attachable zoom, or a good web cam like a logitech.
edit:
I think I've found a camera it's a kodak Z915, but I want your opinions on it before I buy it.

well it looks good If you want freezing fixes and other problems like that just get a web cam it never freezes although that is the same with a huge giant camera I doubt you have the money so Im sticking with my choice as to for you to get a web camera I don't want to make the choice for you though so that is just my opinion

My webcam is really good quality but youtube turns it into a load of garbled crap, is there any way to fix this do you think
hmmm your program could be causing this on my program I just forgot to choose the video quality button as HD so my videos looked terrible I didn't have great videos then either though lol
Re: New camera?
I never use a web cam. I either use a camcorder or a DXG point and shoot camera. They're roughly good quality. I connect them to a TV instead of a computer, so I don't have to worry about the computer freezing up. I don't do onion skinning or much rotoscoping, so it works for me. I'm a bit of a stopmotion purist.
Re: New camera?
omg how can you live with out onion skinning... i always use it....
well heres a nice cammera i dont have it but its more of an uber high quality webcam....

Re: New camera?
Logitech Quickcam 9000.
I have one and it's great. It has all the manual controls you need and the quality is great. It's also quick to set up with pretty much any framegrabber.
Don't think because it's a webcam that the quality is consequentially bad. This is not true in this case. Can't praise it enough.
As for youtube messing with the quality, that's an issue with your editing software rather than your camera. Make sure you're using a common codec.
Re: New camera?
Thanks guys, but the only problem is I use wmm putting all my videos together because claymation studio 1.0 sucks, so what software should I use if I get a webcam? I downloaded monkeyjam but it instantly started giving me problems so I deleted it, and I have no clue how to use helium frog although I still have it. I've been looking at mongo's software which looks really good, but I'd have to buy it and a webcam (no clue how much a good one is) so what should do to solve this problem?
