February 1 to February 29, 2012: Monthly Challenge Ad Compiliation!
Re: February 1 to February 29, 2012: Monthly Challenge Ad Compiliation!
Hmm, I see your point about the voting situation. I think voting during the live broadcast makes it fun as a discussion and also gets more people involved in voting as well as the show. The only thing we need to change with Deans post is it's 8PM central, not pacific. So let's go with this:
"The winner is decided by vote during our live broadcast, at 8pm central on the last Wednesday of each month."
So if we're all in agreement I will send this off to Ron and see if he can do a voice recording sometime soon so we can work on the next step.
Re: February 1 to February 29, 2012: Monthly Challenge Ad Compiliation!
Ok everyone, the audio is done. Ron finished it up tonight and I've uploaded it to YouTube. Here it is:
If everyone had the chance to listen to last nights live show, we were thinking each person can create a short animation of a TV show. This way the viewer of the TV can flip through the channels that Buckner says he'll be making. Possibly in live action. It's Buckners idea and I think would work best since there's no voice tracks to animate to here. Plus if some can't finish in time we can still complete it.
I'll be able to edit it all together and add screen shots of the site should we want to lay out what Ron is saying. Now if each person does a clip, it would need to be short enough so everyone can fit it into the 50 second audio. I can add a little time to the beginning if need be as well as at the end.
So my guess is if everyone keeps it around 5 seconds that gives 10 people a chance to add their animation into this latest challenge. What does everyone think, does anyone foresee any problems?
Re: February 1 to February 29, 2012: Monthly Challenge Ad Compiliation!
How about splitting the audio up into different 5-second pieces for everybody to download and animate to, like in Star Wars Uncut where they took the entire Star Wars movie and split it up into pieces for everybody to remake?

Just so I understand, is each contributor going to match their character's mouth/actions with their piece of the audio track? That was my original thought. All the puppets "saying" Ron's dialogue would tie all the animations together, make them one piece. It would be a little odd if the television was just talking while random animations were playing. But it doesn't have to be that way I guess?
I'll be honest, I really don't know how to insert a whole animation into another one. I love learning by doing, but I will need some help.
Will the television be a blue screen or something like that?
