March to April 4th 2012 "weather"
Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"
Because I spent my time on other things this month, my original piece never got past story-boarding stages. Sooooo, I went with something much simpler. There are things I would do different next time, but I had fun, and I always learn something new. Better than nothing I guess.
Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"
I did a test with my new clay puppet sculpt that I was planning to use for the my weather video.... I tried to keep it simple and very clay looking. this is my first time using Claytoon clay. I am not sure if I like it so far. Its seems very soft and I have to reshape and smooth after every move I made. I was using some pins to keep his foot in place in the styrofoam, I think that I will have to use something thicker for that as well. I was also thinking about making his head bigger so that I can work out some eyes and expressions. I started with a simple floral wire armature with the hips and shoulders fused with premo clay. Im not sure If want to make the video with this guy! I might make another version that is smaller and no armature. any suggestions?

Finished! Making this was a lot of fun. The model fell over quite a few times though, so I'll be looking into using tie-downs in the future.
Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"
where does the time go! what is the latest we can submit our entry? I am finding that I might have been more ambitious in the beginning and now I am running out of time with barely anything done! even with spring break (I'm an Art Teacher) I find myself busy spring cleaning! at least I have reclaimed an office (bedroom) space to work in! tick-tock, tick-tock! how is everybody else doing?
