The festival is held by the government of Xi'an, China and the local Education Board. This year is the second year. The festival is for kids from 5-18 years old. It has two age level, one is for grade 1-6 and the other is for grade 7-12. The movies covers claymotion, cut out, brickfilm etc. Every year the time for submission starts from October, and the deadline will be May next year. Then in June there will be a ceremony.

This years festival there are more than 200 schools join in it. All movies are from schools in China.

The government is looking for some partnership from other countries to make the festival an international one. They hope more kids from different culture could take part in it.
