Are web cams good enough to use for Tv quality animations?
Are web cams good enough to use for Tv quality animations?
I am trying out stopmotion pro trial with my logi tec web cam 2mp, I have just animated some trap door characters and the pictures are really pixelated. I thought for tv broad cast quality it was under 2mp? Web cams are small and agile great for starting out with animation, just thought I could get away with not buying dslr.

Hey Jo, you can definitely broadcast films on TV that you captured with your webcam. The quality though is going to be kind of grainy compared to cameras that are 3MP and above. 3-5MP is about the lowest I'd go for a real broadcast from a station because that's close to what a news studio would use. Still, I wouldn't let it get you down. We all started out on cameras that are cheap. I used to use a super 8 film camera for my first work. Talk about a piece of junk
