The latest Animateclay.com commercial is complete!
Ron Cole originally asked me if I wanted to make a commercial for Animateclay.com. At first I thought, what can we do? The site was not yet in transition, and Stop Motion Magic was still a separate site. So Ron Cole and musician/animator Don Carlson came up with voices and music for our first incarnation of the commercial. It was great! Actually we locally played the spot on local radio. Then when it came time to make the audio into visuals, I decided to merge Stop Motion Magic with Animateclay.com into one large site.
So Ron and Don did their best to re-make the music and voice recording into a 30 second spot. We ran a contest where anyone could utilize the audio, but as I should have suspected - with school starting for most and a boring theme, nobody entered the contest. I took it upon myself to come up with the funniest idea I could for a commercial. Where the audio itself isn't funny, I wondered what it would be like if King Kong heard the spot on his computer. And what would the inside of King Kongs house look like? After thinking it over I came up with the below commercial. Hopefully it does the audio work justice, and hopefully it will get a few more people interested in the web site to share their film experiences with the rest of us.
