Would you make a complete stop motion film with a cell phone? Nokia thinks you should!
Well that's only half true, they are simply trying to sell more phones. But Nokia (who collaborated with Aardman Animations) created a new commercial that was shot on a Nokia N8 cell phone camera. The quality is very very good. With an excellent Carl Zeiss lens and 12MP capacity, you can literally shoot HD stop motion films with it. The only thing I am not sure of is if you can turn off all the auto features. It doesn't appear so from the basic specs listed in the above link. But considering Aardman was able to get it to work for them, it makes me believe you might.
Now the set itself "has broken a world record for the 'largest stop-motion animation set', with the largest scene stretching over 11,000 square feet.". I'm not sure if you can consider it a set, it's really a sandy beach. But hey if stop motion gets into a record book somewhere it can't be bad. You can watch the full film below as well as two behind the scenes videos.
