If you haven't heard of Joel before, he has a rich past working in stop motion at its height. Right before CGI creatures became mainstream and stop motion puppets made nearly obsolete. There has been a resurgence and stop motion popularity has grown to new heights since computers have now been used to enhance the art.

CGI which is used to replace static crisp images isn't needed nearly as much now that digitally blurring puppets gives stop motion a more magical quality. So sites like Joels are places everyone can learn from as we head into 2013.

i remember visiting Joel's site a while ago and being amazed at how many things he did. i would have never guessed that the same guy who animated on Nightmare animated the old Hershey's kisses commercials or Nightmare on Elm street sequences. Pretty inspiring stuff!
