The first episode from what I hope to be a long on going series. Please give my stop motion animation a watch and let me know what you think!

About meMara Frampton is a 19 year old student, currently studying English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich England. Though she is not a formal student of filmmaking she has always been passionate about European Cinema, especially animation. By creating the world of Amaravella, Mara has formed her own miniature setting in which she might play out the scenes in her imagination. What is great about the medium of stop-motion animation is that she has the freedom to create her own film with little means of space (in her case her bedroom), without a large budget or help from other film-makers. She hopes by creating Amaravella, which she would love to embellish into a complex, multi-faceted series, she might have the freedom of mind to change the way people think about the earth by relating it to a fantastical and magical world. Inspired by Ivor Wood’s 1960s children’s animation ‘The Herbs’ and, aesthetically, Oliver Postgate’s original ‘Clangers’ she hopes to deliver a level of sincerity through her hand made puppets and landscapes. The seven minute film is a pilot episode and was completed over 2 years in the breaks between studying for her degree. In her spare time Mara volunteers for the Norwich Film Festival to enable her growing interest in film. Mara was born in Sudbury, Suffolk at home. After a few minutes of being outside of the womb she watched her first film, though she cannot really remember it. It was the 1968’s ‘Yellow Submarine’ animated Beatles film. Since then she has always been captivated by psychedelic colours and eccentric characters not unlike Jeremy Hillary Boob.
