The above video is from JoWingStudio and is the final project they made through the Ardman Academy. The Academy is something that quite a number of people have been talking about in my social media feed. Some have gone through their online course in which you learn both the fundamentals and advanced animation techniques.
What is nice is that you can also learn in-person at Aardman should you live in the UK and have access to their studio. They really put new animators through the motions, from going to the studio and working five days a week on building their skills.
One of the biggest benefits for animators doing this would be to make great connections to people already in the industry. It is essentially getting your foot in the door, and you never know if they may need you on upcoming projects. But it's also great if you simply want to use what you learn to apply to your own projects and make them more professional.
